Some pics taken recently of a road trip to
Multnomah Falls located about 45 min. outside of Portland, Oregon. Located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, the twisty
turvy old highway30, is home to a series of waterfalls that dot the roadside.
Multnomah Falls, being one of them is the second-tallest year-round waterfall in the nation. The water of the Falls drops 620 feet from its origin on Larch Mountain. It truly is majestic.

The bridge seen in the picture above is just a short 1/4" mile jaunt up the hill but to hike up to the top is quite a workout in my opinion. Once to the top though, it is
absolutely stunning. Something I did not do on this trip though as I had my little guy with me.

Here he is taking a rest break- also telling me it is a bit chilly. The gorge region of Oregon can get awfully windy making an otherwise mild day seem very crisp and cold.

One picture that can't be fully appreciated unless you are there is this growth of moss and what I think is lichen growing on the rocks around the waterfall area. The limy green against the steel grey of the stone is so dramatic, I could not stop admiring it. The colors were just a feast for the eyes and artistic inspiration as well...
Enjoy the pics!
