Happy Halloween

Happy Hauntful Halloween to all of you!

A family of bewitching pumpkins await all of the little trick or treaters stopping by for treats.

Spiders are always welcome on this day as well. This particular web has been up for weeks. He or she makes an appearance every now and then but for now the spider is probably lurking around in the bushes looking for its next victim...

Trip to the Falls

Some pics taken recently of a road trip to Multnomah Falls located about 45 min. outside of Portland, Oregon. Located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, the twisty turvy old highway30, is home to a series of waterfalls that dot the roadside. Multnomah Falls, being one of them is the second-tallest year-round waterfall in the nation. The water of the Falls drops 620 feet from its origin on Larch Mountain. It truly is majestic. The bridge seen in the picture above is just a short 1/4" mile jaunt up the hill but to hike up to the top is quite a workout in my opinion. Once to the top though, it is absolutely stunning. Something I did not do on this trip though as I had my little guy with me.

Here he is taking a rest break- also telling me it is a bit chilly. The gorge region of Oregon can get awfully windy making an otherwise mild day seem very crisp and cold.
One picture that can't be fully appreciated unless you are there is this growth of moss and what I think is lichen growing on the rocks around the waterfall area. The limy green against the steel grey of the stone is so dramatic, I could not stop admiring it. The colors were just a feast for the eyes and artistic inspiration as well...
Enjoy the pics!

Fall has arrived

Fall has finally made its blustery appearance over the last week or so in the Pacific NW. Lots of rain, wind and generally soggy weather... I do not mind too much as it keeps everything green. However by March, April you might think that you have grown duck feet.

The garden is slowly receding and starting its winter slumber. Time for cleanup and fall planting. I enjoy watching all the changes going on at this time of year. Daily something else transforms their summer bright greens to shades of yellow and burnt orange. It is also a time that reminds me that change is always present in our daily lives and I must keep looking forword to the hopeful springtime blossoms of life just around the corner.

Art and Soul

Thanks to all who made it to Art and Soul's vendor night last weekend here in Portland. It was much fun as always and great to see all the artists, and shoppers alike. I did not get many great shots as I would have liked but here is a section of my booth. Yes that is a giant red 3ft tall metal bunny rabbit. He is usually in my garden but made for a perfect magnet display!

Moments of silence

These are the places that I go to for rest, unwinding, thinking, fretting, rejoicing. We all have these special places in our lives. They are a place of comfort, to find peace from within. I hope that all of you have those special places in your homes as well. Most of all I find my inner peace through my faith and family.

God Bless!
